Our Community

A Passion for People

Ever since our earliest days, Malloch McClean has been busy working away in the background of our local communities, supporting a range of organisations and causes closest to our heart.

Rugby Southland

Malloch McClean Southland has supported Rugby Southland for many years, through annual sponsorship and fundraising support. Ian Harrington, a director here at Malloch McClean also holds a position on the board.
Rugby Southland was first established in 1887 after splitting from Otago and continues to be the overarching administrators of rugby in Southland. With 32 clubs and over 6,000 participants, club representatives and administrators in the area, Rugby Southland’s role is to develop all aspects of rugby while supporting club development to help ensure their sustainability.

Rescue Helicopter

Malloch McClean Tasman hosted “Feast" at the end of 2019. Feast was a mystery night out showcasing the best culinary experiences Nelson has to offer with all proceeds going to the Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter. The event raised $47,000 for the Rescue Helicopter which helps ensure support is available in the community when needed. With a shortfall of roughly $3K per life, this donation will help save 16 valuable lives in the Tasman community.
Each year, the Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter responds to over 500 missions throughout the Nelson, Tasman, Marlborough and Buller regions. With the base in Nelson being surrounded by three National Parks, alpine peaks, numerous world class mountain bike tracks, a ski field within driving distance and the beautiful coastal waters that surround the region, the rescue helicopter proves to be a vital service within the community.
