Our Communities

A passion for people

Ever since our earliest days, Malloch McClean has been busy working away in the background of our local communities, supporting a range of organisations and causes closest to our heart.

Rugby Southland

Malloch McClean Southland has been supporting Rugby Southland over the years. A bit about Rugby Southland: Rugby Southland was first established in 1887 after splitting from Otago and continues to be the overarching administrators of rugby in Southland. With 32 clubs and over 6,000 participants, club representatives and administrators in the area, Rugby Southland’s role is to develop all aspects of rugby while supporting club development to help ensure their sustainability.

Malloch McClean Southland has been supporting The Pantry over the years. A bit about The Pantry: In May 2017 South Alive opened the doors to The Pantry, a bulk grocery and speciality foods store with a community cafe that is designed to create revenue to fund South Alive and their community projects. At the heart of The Pantry is sustainability, nourishment and the community.

Rescue Helicopter

Malloch McClean Tasman were proud to host “Feast" at the end of 2019. “Feast” was a mystery night out showcasing the best culinary experiences Nelson has to offer with all proceeds going to the Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter. "We managed to raised $47,000 for the Rescue Helicopter to ensure that it is available in our community when we need it." With a shortfall of roughly $3K per life, this donation will save 16 valuable lives in our community.  A bit about Nelson Marlborough rescue Helicopter: Each year the Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter responds to over 500 missions throughout the Nelson, Tasman, Marlborough and Buller regions. With the base in Nelson being surrounded by three National Parks, alpine peaks, numerous world class mountain bike tracks, a ski field within driving distance and the beautiful coastal waters which surround us, the rescue helicopter proves to be a vital service within the community.
