Update on IR's Final Business Transformation Release

Inland Revenue will be offline from 3pm on Thursday 21 October until the morning of Thursday 28 October. This includes all online MyIR portals, offices, and call centres, while they switch over to new systems as part of their Business Transformation project. What you need to note ahead of the closedown...

  • GST returns need filed prior to 3pm on 21 October or you will need to wait and file this return after 28th October. If you are unable to file before the 21 October there is an extension for filing until the 4th November 2021.  If you have a draft return or secure mail in myIR, these need to be finalised and submitted by 3.00pm Thursday 21 October, otherwise they will be deleted as they can’t be transferred as part of the closedown process.
  • Employment Information (EI) returns for Payday Filing that are due over the closure can be filed early if you're able. The days during the temporary shutdown will not count as working days for filing periods.
  • Filing can be completed up to 3.00pm on Thursday 21 October and can be resumed from the start of business on Thursday 28 October.

Your GST Return Is Due on October 28th

A reminder that GST payment for the period ending September is due on Thursday the 28th October. If we look after your GST, please make sure you get all your information to us as soon as possible, as we will not be able to file returns between 21 and 28 October. If you complete your own return and need a hand, just get in touch and we can help!

2021 Financial Statements

We want to ensure your work continues with the uncertainty around Covid.  If your Financial Statements are still to be prepared, please send your information into us.  It may not be completed ahead of your scheduled time, but at least we have it on site ready to go, if another Level 3 or 4 lockdown were to occur.  This means if we have to work from home again between now and 31 March 2022, we are set ready to go, without you having to worry about how your Financial Statements will get complete in time. If you require your information urgently for either Bank funding or COVID support please let us know and we will do our best to prioritise your work. If you are not sure what information to send us please contact info_request@mmca.co.nz

Tax Letters

If we normally send requests for tax payments to you via email we have set up a new email address that these will come from. From next month, tax letters will come from taxteam@mmca.co.nz

Inland Revenue Correspondence

Inland Revenue are at the final stages of moving all tax types to their new system – if you receive any correspondence (especially relating to payroll) that you are not sure about, please get in contact with us and we can help. As part of their upgrade, the Inland Revenue are updating the access to your records – you may get a letter from them to say that Malloch McClean now has access to your records, this is to confirm we have that access for tax purposes.
