Eric Van Eeden - BCom CA
Principal


 

Eric’s role covers a broad spectrum of business.  His specialist area is Farm Management accounting, taxation and business advisory services.

Eric has 25 years of experience in these sectors, adding value to his clients businesses and providing a personal and innovative business advisory and planning service.

When Eric isn’t at work he can normally be found tramping or mountain biking with his family and friends in some of the majestic and remote regions of the South Island.



Jeremy McClean - BCom CA
Principal




Jeremy has provided a range of business services as a Chartered Accountant, particularly to the rural sector for a number of years.

 

Jeremy has been involved in the development of many farming businesses and enjoys the challenge of adding value to their business and dealing with the associated opportunities relating to farm succession, tax and estate planning issues.

 

Jeremy and Sandra’s three children are now qualified in their respective professions.  So when not spending time with them he continues to develop his interest in most sports especially snow skiing, golf and cycling.

Lindsay McClean - BCom CA
Principal

 

 Lindsay has 30 years experience in the Chartered Accountancy and business advisory sectors.  As well as dealing with his many Southland clients, he also has a large client base in Central Otago.

With many years providing business and management services to both the rural and commercial sectors he is very qualified to advise on business structures and provide planning and taxation advice.

 

Sharing his time between Southland and Otago ensures that he is fortunate to experience the best both provinces have to offer.

 

With his children now qualified professionals also, he and his wife Sue enjoy catching up with them in their respective cities.

Ian Harrington - BCom CA
Principal



Ian enjoys working with, and providing a broad range of services to a variety of our clients. This includes taxation, financial management, cash flow and budgeting for both existing and start ups with an emphasis on Rural based activities.  He has clients in all sectors from Retail through to large rural businesses.  Ian uses his experience and knowledge in business planning and ability to evaluate possible opportunities, to help grow his client’s businesses.

 

Ian is from a farming background and currently farms a few hectares at West Plains with the help of his wife Pauline and 2 children.

 

Ian enjoys watching car racing and getting out on his trial bike when time permits.

Campbell Hay - BCom CA
Principal



Campbell has been a partner since 2004, he specialises in providing business management services to the commercial and rural sectors.  He particularly enjoys working with the diverse range of clients he has and getting to know them and their businesses better.  He believes an integral part of working with his clients is he likes to include their other professional advisors as often as possible in order to obtain the best overall solution to meet his clients’ business needs.

 

Campbell’s enjoys the outdoors particularly when 4 Wheel driving and tramping, but he finds that parenting three young children with wife Jennifer and the demands of his own small farm take up most of his spare time now.

John Schol - BCom Dip Grad CA
Principal


John has recently been appointed a Partner of the firm.   He offers a range of accountancy and business development services as well as continuing to have the overall responsibility for Malloch McClean’s operations as Business Manager.

 

John began his career at Malloch McClean after graduating from Otago University.  He then travelled to the United Kingdom to broaden his general business skills and gain experience in the Public Sector before commencing a backpacking holiday around Europe.

Recently, John has retired after a number of years playing and captaining the Southland Spirit Men’s Football team, to pursue a Masters Degree in Business Administration.

 

John is currently the deputy chair of the Southland branch of the NZ Institute of Chartered Accountants and a member of the Southern Institute of Technology Business Advisory Board.
